Your research: into practice
February 14 @ 13:30 - 16:45
Perhaps you’ve noticed that an approach to practice is working really well and you want to champion this to other teams – or have you ever felt that the systems which support our practice could be improved, or that we could support the people who use our services in a more optimal way?
You can evidence your hypotheses through research. Practitioners in your Local Authority are already completing research that will have a real impact on day to day practice. Your idea can be next!
At this event you can learn how to turn your research idea into a reality. Co-facilitated by practitioners who are already completing research at your Local Authority together with expert researchers from the Universities of Brighton and Sussex, at this workshop you will:
- Learn how you might turn your research question from the seed of an idea into a realistic draft plan
- Hear about practicalities such as applying to Ethics Panels
- Hear from practitioner colleagues who are completing research about what they have learnt from this process
- Learn which people in your organisation can support you with your research.
To be eligible to come along you need to have thought about a potential research question, although this doesn’t need to be in any detail. Places on this workshop are limited to 30 and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

This event is open to all East Sussex and Brighton & Hove social work practitioners from both Adults and Children’s Services.
